Robert S. Allen, MD, Emeritus
Piedmont Cancer Institute, P.C. pays tribute to physician Robert Allen, MD for his long medical career by bestowing on him the status of Physician Emeritus.
Dr. Allen is being recognized by his peers and honored for his exceptional successes in the field of hematology/oncology. After graduating first in his class at the Medical College of Georgia, he went on to complete his doctoral studies at University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB), and Emory University.
Amassing over 33 years in private practice, he has helped thousands of patients during his career through their daily journeys of life. "Energetic", "tirelessly dedicated", "compassionate", "good natured", and "joyful" are some of the words that patients use to describe Dr. Allen. Always the patient advocate, Dr. Allen reassured his patients through his mastery of his profession and had the ability to communicate, relate, and encourage each of his patients. Known fondly by patients and staff for his pragmatic, honest, upbeat, humorous, and witty approach to life's challenges, Dr. Allen valued personal integrity above other virtues.
Retiring in July 2018, Dr. Allen will pursue his hobbies including traveling, singing, playing the guitar, attending music venues, volunteering at his church while enjoying his family as a central priority. While he looks forward to leading a retired man's life, he will miss working with patients, his colleagues, and the physicians in our community.
