Our Pharmacy
In-house pharmacies are a vital component to holistic cancer care, offering a convenient and coordinated effort between doctor and patient. The benefits have become even more evident with the increase of new oral cancer drugs coming to the market, which require close monitoring. PCI has immediate access to limited distribution (LDD) and brand-new drugs available only to specialty pharmacies like ours. Because these medications have special requirements and are complex, manufacturers choose to limit the distribution of these drugs to insure a higher level of oversight.
Our pharmacist has access to patients' full medical charts. With patient charts readily accessible, any issues with drug interactions will be known at point of service. Our pharmacy director is a is a highly skilled and trusted oncology medication expert who has additional training in herbal & holistic integrative medicine.
The PCI pharmacy is located in our Atlanta office, but our services are available to all PCI patients at all locations. We have, on average, a 72-hour turnaround time for brand name medications and 24 hour for generic. Our pharmacy takes the additional step to make sure medications are coordinated with patient's appointment time for all locations.
PCI is currently enrolled with almost all insurance prescription plans, and we will also help to find you an in-network pharmacy, if needed. Our pharmacy takes the time to review patients' benefits to help minimize out-of-pocket costs further reducing additional stressors that come with a cancer diagnosis.
Cancer drugs can be very expensive, and patients often struggle to afford their care. In-house pharmacies are adept at helping patients find financial resources to ease the costs. Third party specialty pharmacies simply cannot and do not provide the same benefits to cancer patients.
